Hey, I’m Skyler.
I grew up in Mount Dora, Florida, and finished my journalism degree from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida in 2020. I soon found myself working in non-profit communications in Helena, Montana, using my passion for real-life storytelling to help promote the organizations that held the tightly-knit community together. I also served as a camera operator and producer for the Montana Public Affairs Network, on Montana PBS for nearly four years, providing gavel-to-gavel live coverage of the state legislature and governor’s addresses.
Now located in Chicago, Illinois, I plan to continue to seek out new experiences and growth through authenticity and impact.
What is Documentary Style Photography?
Documentary-style photography captures the world and people as they are. This style tells the story of the subject of the photo and captures the reality of the emotions in the air in that moment. This implies that there is usually minor editing and very light retouching, paying closer attention to the composition and lighting while shooting.
The difference.
Authenticity, adaptability, and the ability to connect with anyone.
While I specialize in documentary - style, I can also adapt to your needs and provide services for events like non-profit fundraising or corporate events.
